Home Remedies- Atheletes Foot Reviews

Ask anyone suffering from Athlete's Foot what the worst part is and they will quickly tell you it is the ITCH! It can be so bad that a person afflicted with the fungal infection may start to wonder if it's worth keeping the foot- lol. There are a number of anti-fungal sprays that can provide some degree of relief but for this condition the home remedies seem to pack a better punch. Here is what you need to know to get rid of the itch fast.
Athletes Foot (a.k.a. Tinea Pedis for those who like technical terms) is a common fungal infection that affects the soles of the feet and the skin between the toes.
You will know you have been infected if you notice scaly, grayish-white or red skin between your toes and intense itching. The affected skin can also smell musty as if the aforementioned symptoms where not bad enough.
It is caused by coming in contact with the fungus. Athlete's foot is a very contagious condition that spreads easily when walking barefoot in public locker rooms or showers.
Home Remedies for Athlete's Foot
First of all, if you have the infection, care should be taken to prevent the spread of the fungus, you do not want to pass it along. As mentioned above there are over-the-counter anti-fungal powder or ointment that can be applied after a bath and may help the symptoms but above all you want to keep the affected area dry and cool by going barefoot or wearing sandals, changing shoes and socks often, using a drying powder on the toes and avoiding sweat.
Here are some additional home remedies that you can discuss with your doctor and then try:
1. Tea tree oil may remove the itching and other symptoms just be aware that it may not cure the underlying infection.
2. Clean your tub or shower floor with bleach to kill any fungus.
3. Eat more garlic. A compound found in garlic, Ajoene, is found to be effective in fighting athlete's foot.
Above all keep the feet dry and the shoes clean and you will get ahead of the fungal infection.
See the product page above to see what works out best for you.
